What we do

At The Green Canopy Foundation, we are actively involved in various initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and biodiversity conservation. Our core areas of expertise and activities include:

  1. Community Workshops and Educational Programs:
Organizing workshops, seminars, and educational programs to foster community involvement in environmental conservation. We aim to empower local communities with the knowledge and skills essential for long-term conservation success.
  2. Biodiversity Surveys and Conservation:
Conducting extensive surveys of flora and fauna to document and protect biodiversity. We work on biodiversity conservation projects that address both flora and fauna in various ecosystems. Developing and supporting programs to protect endangered species, implement anti-poaching measures, and establish wildlife corridors that ensure safe movement for wildlife.
  3. Conservation of Traditional Healing Practices:
Conducting surveys and trainings for traditional healers and promote sustainable harvesting of medicinal plants.
  4. Preparing mitigation Plans for Wildlife:
Developing comprehensive plans to mitigate the impacts of human activities on wildlife, including avifauna, and supporting conservation projects for the management of wildlife populations.
  5. Human-Wildlife Conflict Mitigation:
Designing and implementing training and awareness programs aimed at reducing human-wildlife conflicts. These initiatives involve educating communities on coexisting with wildlife, reducing risks, and enhancing safety.
  6. Collaboration and Teamwork:
We recognize that collaboration and teamwork are essential for achieving remarkable outcomes. At MACC CERT, we foster an inclusive and supportive environment where each team member's unique strengths are valued and leveraged. Together, we synergize our expertise and perspectives, enabling us to tackle challenges collectively and celebrate shared successes.
  7. Environmental Protection and Management Projects:
Implementing projects focused on environmental protection, such as reforestation, promoting ecotourism, soil moisture conservation (SMC), and restoring degraded lands. Our work is centered on enhancing ecosystem services and promoting sustainable land-use practices.
  8. Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Plans and Activities:
Initiating and participating in projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting renewable energy sources, and building community resilience to climate change impacts. We focus on implementing sustainable practices that contribute to climate change adaptation and mitigation.
  9. Research and Development:
Engaging in research and development activities related to forests, biodiversity, and the environment to support informed decision-making and policy formulation.
